With Turkey Day only 2 (!) days away, you’re probably dreaming of delicious white meat, dressing, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce. But speaking from experience, after the dinner is done and you’ve had your day-after turkey sandwich and a dinner (or two) of leftovers you’ll probably be looking for something, ANYTHING to eat this weekend that doesn’t have anything to do with our old pal Tom or his trusty side-kicks (get it? ha!)
Did we mention you start out by layering your soup bowl with a generous dallop of sour cream? The key to this is the generous part. Be still my dairy-loving little heart.
Not to worry, we’re here to cure your turkey hangover with a soup so rich and flavorful you’ll forget that turkey even exists. Served with a side of southern comfort in the form of homemade country ham biscuits, this dinner will have you giving thanks all over again. (Allow us to go ahead and say you’re welcome)
Mmmmm, country ham biscuits. One of life's greatest treasures and another reason we thank God everyday for our Southern heritage!
Actually, we didn’t come up with this recipe. We know, it’s a shocker! Our beloved Pioneer Woman, goddess of all things delicious and butter-drenched did. And you can find the recipe here.
And don’t let the cauliflower part of this recipe turn you off. We wouldn’t typically touch that stuff with a ten foot pole. But thanks to this soup, we are looking at cauliflower with new eyes.
