I do love a good bargain. On a recent trip to Kirkland’s I noticed that all of their sale items were an additional 25% off. This red tray from the Christmas clearance caught my eye. It was cute and I liked that it could be used for a lot of different holidays—but most of all I liked the price!
Originally priced at $10.99 after the discount my total came to around $4!
I brought it home and put it away until inspiration struck on what to do with this thing.
At a recent craft night, Natalie and our "craftspert" Kelly were having a session on learning the ropes of the Cricut machines Santa brought them. That’s when I had my “aha!” moment. I whipped out my tray and Kelly whipped out some super cute vinyl lettering for me.
Because Kelly is much more patient than I am, she used a ruler to guide her in putting the lettering on the tray. That’s why she’s the craftspert!
Voila! I’m 2 for 2 on Valentine crafts! How do you like me now?
No, really? How do you like me? Enough to be my valentine? :)
I’m working up a Valentine vignette for this space in my dining room (in my head at least). But I think this is a good start!
The best part of this project is that the vinyl peels right off, so I can change up the lettering for Christmas or take it off all together and use this as an actual tray. You know how us copy cats love to get more bang for our buck!
The Copycat Rundown:
Total Cost: Tray- $4, Everything else was FREE! It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
Total Time Spent: 10 minutes? Maybe? It was quick and painless, to say the least!
Would we do this again? : YES! Count on seeing this baby again and again!
Credit: Drumroll please….. ME!!!!! I do love it when I have an original thought. Makes me feel smart! And crafty!
Big shout out to my girl Kell for hooking me up with some Cricutty vinyl goodness!
Way cute! I need to get my Valentines craft on now!
